felted cat balls

Another fun use for leftover yarns is to make felted cat toys.  Start with purchased plastic cat balls with bells inside, then wind layers of wool yarn around and around them, adding

novelty yarns for texture.  Stuff the balls into old nylon stockings, tying between them

sausage-style, then felt in the washing machine.
