Kureyon Stripe Scarf
Yarn: 2 skeins of Noro Kureyon Use one skein each of 2 different colors. (A and B) Each color combination produces an interesting scarf.
Crochet Hook: Size K
Abbreviations: hdc (half double crochet); sl (slip); sc (single crochet); st (stitch); sp (space); ch (chain).
Instructions:
Wind off about 3 feet of color A, cut and save for fringe. 1. With color A, chain 14. Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across (13 sc). Ch 1, turn. 2. *Sc, ch 1 (skip 1)* across. Ch 1, turn. 3. Sc in each st. across (13 sc.) Cut off color A, leaving a 6 inch length of yarn. Leaving a 6-inch length of yarn, attach color B on the ch 1 turn.
4-6. Repeat first 3 rows, using color B. Then cut off color B, leaving a 6 inch length of yarn. Leaving a 6-inch length of yarn, attach color A on the ch 1 turn.
Continue to follow this pattern, changing colors every 3 rows. When all yarn, except 3 feet of color B, is used up, end scarf after a color B 3-row pattern is complete.
Tie a knot and a bow at each place in the scarf where you have the 6-inch lengths of each color. Then use the loops and ends of the bow to tie another knot. Cut all yarn ends, leaving approximately 3/4 in. for fringe.
At short ends of scarf, use reserved yarn double and similarly tie and cut 7 bows for fringe.
This scarf will have much better drape and softness if you hand wash it in mild shampoo and block it.
